As many visitors come to see Lago Braies all year round, especially in summer, transit is limited from 10th July to 10th September. Especially in this period of time, reaching the lake by bus or by bike is recommended and the only option during certain daytimes.

By car

Reaching Lago di Braies by car is straightforward. From Bolzano, take the A22 motorway towards Bressanone, then follow the signs to Brunico and Val di Braies. Ample parking is available near the lake.

By public transport

Trains run from Bolzano to Villabassa, from where you can catch a bus directly to Lago di Braies. The scenic route offers a glimpse of the region's natural beauty.
